Clinical Services

Assessment – is at the core of clinical counseling. It is based on your symptoms and the clinical interview. After assessment we will have a working diagnosis and a direction with which to proceed.

Individual counseling with adults and adolescents – most of my practice involves seeing people individually. As a counselor, I will listen to you express your personal thoughts and feelings about the problem. The goal of therapy is to make change, and change leads to improvement. When the problem has improved, your positive experiences will increase.

Biofeedback and Self Regulation – symptoms define diagnosis and many symptoms take a physical form. Biofeedback enhances the treatment of disorders like anxiety and certain medical illnesses that are made worse by stress. Treating unwanted physical symptoms, combined with traditional counseling, may provide the best outcome. Biofeedback software is displayed on a computer monitor and is easy to use. Click the tab More About Biofeedback for details.

Confidentiality Notice – as a licensed professional counselor in the state of Pennsylvania, I am bound to keep clinical information confidential. I am prohibited from revealing any identifying information about my clients  including people who have contacted me but have not yet begun therapy. There are two exceptions, although they come up very rarely. They are 1) If in my judgement, a client is in imminent danger to him- or herself (e.g., threats of suicide)  2) If in my judgement, a client presents an imminent danger to someone else (e.g., threats to physically harm someone else).  If I am contacted by someone requesting information about a past or current client, I can neither confirm nor deny that I know that person without prior written consent.

It would be my pleasure to meet you and discuss how we can improve your health.
